NBA komt weer op gang; Tony Parker krijgt vanavond in Berlijn de Speler van het Jaar Award voor zijn seizoen 2013-2014

Tony Parker To Receive POY Trophy October 7, 2014
Munich, 7 Oct - San Antonio Spurs and French legend Tony Parker will be presented with the 2013 FIBA Europe Player of the Year Award when the Spurs take on Euroleague club ALBA Berlin at the O2 World Berlin venue on Wednesday as the NBA Global Games touch down in Europe.
Parker won the award, which was voted on by media and fans alike, in almost unanimous fashion, after leading the Spurs to the 2013 NBA Finals and then spearheading France’s maiden EuroBasket success in Slovenia. He then went on to help the Spurs win last season’s NBA title.
The 32-year-old point guard will be presented the award by FIBA Europe Secretary General Kamil Novak shortly before the game tip-off (20:00).
It is the first time that Parker has won the award, which has in the past, amongst others, been won by German Dirk Nowitzki.
Following the game against the 2014 German Beko BBL runners-up, San Antonio will move on to Istanbul where they take on Turkish Beko Basketball League champions Fenerbahce Ülker on Saturday.
