Binnenkort in het Theater; de NBA gaat weer Beginnen!

A new NBA season means new NBA ads, and the league unveiled Monday an advertisement that should help get the juices flowing for hoops fans.

The premise for the “Big is On” spot is simple: a whole host of the league’s young stars are working out in dark gyms as they get ready for showtime. “This Little Light of Mine” provides the background music as 2012 Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving, 2013 Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard, 2013 All-Star Paul George, John Wall and others prepare themselves for opening night, when the power will be on. Shots of their home basketball arenas — the rafters, the exterior, wide angle looks at the court — are interspliced to help set the scene.

The spot isn’t risky or boundary-pushing in the slightest, but it succeeds in capturing the building anticipation with opening night now just a little more than two weeks away.

The full list of players in the spot: Harrison Barnes (Warriors), Mike Conley Jr. (Grizzlies), Kenneth Faried (Nuggets), George (Pacers), Gordon Hayward (Jazz), Jrue Holiday (Pelicans), Irving (Cavaliers), Lillard (Blazers), Greg Monroe (Pistons), Kemba Walker (Bobcats) and Wall (Wizards). That’s a lot of young talent. The music is performed by “The Steeles,” a family group of gospel artists. The spot will begin airing on Monday night.
