In a sudden press conference, Magic Johnson announces that he is stepping down as the president of basketball operations for the Los Angeles Lakers. He says in the press conference that he hasn't told Jeanie Buss the news and wants to go out and have more fun in his life.

maar Magic was voor mij persoonlijk lang toch wel een uitzondering; hij is een jaartje jonger dan ik...

Ik zal nooit de avond vergeten dat het nieuws brak dat hij HIV-positief was, zat een week op een cursus voor mijn werk, was zelf al een tijdje chronisch ziek, dat kwam wel binnen. Maar niet veel later heb ik al weleens gezegd "Als eentje is die ervan kan genezen...dan lijkt hij me een goede kandidaat..." Heb begrepen dat dat inmiddels ook gebeurd is...
