Omdat probleem op te lossen 'gaf' het 'het volk' een Brexit-Referendum, terwijl hijzelf tegen zo'n Brexit was...

Boris Johnson - de Oud-Burgemeester van London en 'vriend' van Cameron - werd parlementariër omdat hij premier wilde worden. Hij was altijd 'Voor de EU', maar zag zijn kans om de grote rechtse leider van zijn land te worden, dus flipte hij van positie; hij was nu ineens voor een Brexit...

Er werd een belachelijke campagne gevoerd - vooral door 'Rechts' en Boris Johnson in het bijzonder; de mensen werden opgehitst, voorgelogen, het leidde tot xenofobie en zelfs een politieke moord, maar...'Brexit' won...

Iedereen benieuwd naar wat 'het plan' was van de Brexiteers - Boris Johnson voorop - dat plan bleek er niet te zijn, dus dook Boris Johnson een weekendje onder, zodat hij de media kon ontlopen...

En nu?

De halfbroer van Geert Wilders en Donald Trump - i.i.g. delen ze dezelfde kapper, hebben ze een zelfde manier van doen en schreeuwen en hebben ze alle drie slechts verdeeldheid te bieden - maakt bekend dat hij NIET de man is die het UK uit de EU moet leiden...

Boris Johnson dramatically quit the Tory leadership battle today after Michael Gove delivered a mortal blow to his hopes of reaching Downing Street. The former London mayor said he was not the man to take the country forward hours after the Justice Secretary announced his own bid and condemned his colleague.
In a series of devastating blows for Mr Johnson, Leader of the House Chris Grayling also came out in support of his arch rival Theresa May and key backers Nick Boles and Dominic Raab have defected to Mr Gove's campaign.

As the alliance between senior Leave figures in the EU referendum was torn up, Mr Johnson used what was meant to be his campaign launch in central London to rule himself out. ‘Let us seize this chance and make this our moment to stand tall in the world. That is the agenda for the next prime minister of this country,' he said. 'But I must tell you, my friends, you who have waited faithfully for the punch line for this speech, that having consulted colleagues and in view of the circumstances in Parliament, I have concluded that person cannot be me. ‘My role will be to give every possible support to the next Conservative administration, to make sure that we properly fulfill the mandate of the people that was delivered at the referendum and to champion the agenda I believe in.' The Conservatives' ruling 1922 committee has confirmed that the candidates are Mrs May, Mr Gove, Treasury minister Andrea Leadsom, Work and Pensions Secretary Stephen Crabb and ex-defence secretary Liam Fox.

NRC.nl bericht zo: 'Boris-krijgt-mes-in-de-rug-en-staakt-de-strijd-2999389'...
mooi beeld natuurlijk 'Mes in de rug', maar ik zie dat toch wat anders:
1-Boris is zelf een 'Backstabber'; o.a. bij Cameron; zo gaat dat in rechtse kringen (trouwens ook de PvdA is er erg goed in!)
2-Dit moest gebeuren; de man heeft zich al volledig onbekwaam getoond, een geluk bij een ongeluk dus...
