Goed deze Post waaiert wat ver uit...
Laat ik daarom -For the Record- eerst ff dit stellen: ik heb bij het 1Vandaag-panel voor minister Wiebes -VVD; ja echt!-gestemd als Politicus van de Maand. Natturlijk vanwege zijn Historische Gssbesluit, al begrijp ik dan weer niet wat hem -Out of his F879!..g Fracking Mind- bezielde om zowat in een adem te besluiten dat naast het stoppen van de Gaswinningen in Groningen op niet al te lange termijn, weer wel toestemming te geven om in diezelfde buurt -nota bene met behulp van fracking!?!- een nieuw kein gasveld aan te boren...zal wel een 'compomie'tje van zijn Baas Maark 'Flutte' Rutte zijn, waar zijn principiële, best sterke rug dan weer net niet tegen bestand bleek...
Kom ik nu op de aanleiding voor deze post.
Bij het schiften van mijn spullen voor mijn aanstaande verhuizing kwam ik de VHS-band van Midgnight Oil, 'Black Fellah, White Fellah tegen. Ik ben een grote fan van deze Australische Band. En dat werd alleen maar meer toen deze een erg Activistische Band bleek, die onder andere -zoals in dit project- voluit achter de Strijd van de Aboriginals voor het rechtzetten wat deze Oorspronkelijke Bewoners van the Great Land Down Under allemaal wel niet aangedaan is, en wordt.
Dit Project leidde uiteindelijk tot het fameuze album 'Diesel And Dust', met als meest bekende Songs:
-Dead Heart (met een Waanzinnig Mooie Clip)en
-Beds Are Burning (ook al een Waanzinnig Mooie Clip!):

Waarom ik er onze minister (K)Wiebes bij haal?
Omdat de Zanger van Midnight Oil -Peter Garrett; een man met veel Charisma- ook Minister was op dit gebied, en een groter contrast wat betreft 'Look&Feel' tussen als tussen deze twee is nauwelijks denkbaar....

Ambruzzo, Zomer 2008. Ik heb de MU20B in Roemenië al achter me, en ben naar Italie gevlogen voor de MU16A. De Olympische Spelen staan op het punt van beginnen, ik ben ingecheckt in leuk hotel hoog boven de stad Pescara, en ik heb nog een dag of twee voor het toernooi begint, en die gebruik ik voor een verkenning, want de speelplaatsen liggen nogal ver van elkaar. Het is hoogzomer en de avonden zijn zeer zwoel. Kortom; alhoewel onze vakantie pas begint na het MU16-toernooi, en die tien dagen best nog pittig gaan worden, heb ik toch al eventjes bij wijze van voorproefje een vakantiegevoel.
Thuis in Nederland had ik Gabriella Cilmi, met haar Zomer-hit 'Sweet About Me', al ontdekt, maar op de autoradio met Italiaanse zenders komt ze zeker eens per twee uur een keertje voorbij... Als ik het nummer nu eens tegenkom, of het opzoek en dan een paar keer achter elkaar afluister, komt het gevoel van toen direct terug... Nu op Youtube drie-en-dertig miljoen keer beluisterd, op Spotify twaalf-en-een-half miljoen keer, hoogste positie in de Album Top-100: 9, en 41 weken in diezelfde Top-100, 2e in de Top-40, drie keer in de Top-2000 -plaatsen 1098(2009), 1313(2010) en 1756(2011)-; geen gekke cijfers voor een -toen nog heel- jonge zangeres. Spotify en Wikipedia leren ook dat het daar -in ieder geval wat betreft Nederland- wat betreft Hits vooralsnog bij is gebleven...
Ik mag het nummer nog steeds graag horen, op een of andere manier spreekt Muziek van 'Down Under' mij vaak aan...levensgevoel? Ooit 'The Land Down Under', van Man At Work -een van mijn All-time Favorieten-, in 2017 Anne Marie met 'Chiau, Adios'...misschien zie ik wel iets van een patroon...er zou zomaar ook een liedjesschrijver en/of producer achter kunnen zitten die een snaar bij mij raakt..?

ZARAGOZA, Spain (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - Australia won a historic first-ever title at the FIBA U17 Women's World Championship in Zaragoza after storming to a 62-38 victory over Italy in Saturday's Final.
The Sapphires went a perfect 6-0 over the course of the tournament and locked down the Italian offense in the title game, keeping their talented frontcourt under control. On offense, they used a sensational team effort as point guard Monique Conti led the way with 18 points, captain Jasmine Simmons added a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds and Ezi Magbegor chipping in with 13 points, 9 boards and 3 blocks.

The USA, the winners of the first three editions of the FIBA U17 Women's World Championship, went some way to easing the pain of relinquishing their grasp on the title by beating China 65-50 to finish third.
Magbegor was rewarded for her impressive play throughout the Championship by being named the Most Valuable Player, presented by Tissot. She headlined the All-Star Five which also featured her team-mates Conti and Simmons, Italy's Sara Madera and Xu Han of China.
In Saturday's Classification 5-8 games, the Czech Republic beat hosts Spain 63-51 to finish 5th, Canada sealed 7th place with a narrow 58-53 win against France. Friday's Classification 9-16 contests saw Japan finish inside the top 10 with a 72-67 defeat of Latvia, while Mali beat Portugal 69-47 to secure 11th place, while Brazil took 13th place after getting the better of Mexico 64-39.
